Religion

Helping students grow in the knowledge and appreciation of their faith and its traditions. 

Math

Math in third grade covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.  We also cover graphing, time, money, and place value.

English

English in third grade covers the major parts of speech, such as:  nouns, pronouns, verbs, and adjectives.  These parts of grammar are taught while teaching how to write sentences, paragraphs, stories, and poems.

Reading and Spelling

The literature experience emphasizes and reinforces positive learning experiences, ensuring reading and writing success for every child.  Learning comprehension skills are a major part of our curriculum.

Science

In third grade, students will explore material in four broad categories:  life, physical, earth/space, and health science.  They will acquire thinking skills for process science and critical thinking skills for reasoning and problem solving.  Students will learn how they can use information to develop their own new ideas.

Social Studies

Social Studies in third grade examines map, globe, and geography skills.  We learn about communities from the past through present times.  We also learn about our government and how it helps our local communities.
