The New Testament introduces students to the culture of Jesus and his times. They are introduced to the questions people have asked over the ages. This course will help them appreciate the present day Catholic understanding of Scripture and give them the tools to avoid fundamentalist leanings that distort real Catholic doctrine and Scripture itself.

This course will develop computational, procedural, and problem-solving skills to provide a foundation for further study in mathematics. It will further offer opportunities for students to experience a number of different learning strategies for problem solving.
Students explore the concepts of ratios, rates, and percents, including applying proportional reasoning to solve problems and to evaluate percent. While learning to solve two-step equations, they also learn to identify and solve inequalities. Students are introduced to graphing in the coordinate plane, also using graphs to model and solve equations. Introduction to the measurement of geometric figures with emphasis on discovering and exploring their properties occurs at this level. Students learn to find the area and the volume of many figures by using formulas. Students also learn to work with square roots, right triangles, the Pythagorean theorem and trigonometric ratios.

Students will explore the world of reading through four novels in various genres. They will be encouraged to appreciate novels as pieces of literature.
This is a general course on the study of Life Science. The course covers the many aspects of Life Science, and gives the student an idea of how they relate to their lives and the environment.
Students will learn about the basic themes of geography as well as the human and physical geography of North America, Central America, South America, and Europe.
The students will continue to improve their technology skills according to the Michigan Educational Technology Standards. This course continues the development and reinforcement of proper keyboarding techniques. The students learn to utilize Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel as an educational tool. They also explore the other productivity applications of Microsoft Office 2010. The students are introduced to various troubleshooting issues that they can resolve without help. Internet research strategies are touched upon in preparation for the next level taken in 8th grade. They will create many multimedia presentations as an assessment of their technology skills.
